Inside our own practice · Australia
What happened when I applied this thinking inside our own dental practice.
Patients, clinicians, people, systems, profit — and the life the practice was built to fund.
Small swift moves. Profound transformations.
The practice, at a glance
- Profitable multimillion-dollar independent Queensland dental practice
- Significant sustained growth — including through COVID — with no paid advertising
- Hundreds of genuine five-star Google reviews
- Distributed leadership, strong retention, owner not involved day to day
- Silver Award, Customer Service — Moreton Bay Small Business Awards, 2025
Patient experience + treatment understanding
Make the clinical recommendation understandable to the person sitting in the chair.
We mapped the patient’s experience end to end and translated clinical concepts into plain, relevant language. Clinicians and team were trained to understand the things patients actually weigh up: fear, cost, urgency, values and trust.
Treatment conversations got stronger, and so did treatment acceptance — through understanding, never pressure. Hundreds of five-star reviews and sustained growth followed, with $0 paid advertising.
Clinician transformations
Better dentistry around the dentistry.
The biggest shifts were rarely clinical. They were about communication, confidence, relationships, value and how each clinician wanted work to fit into life.
Six clinical days → around 2.5
One principal clinician reduced from around six clinical days a week to roughly two and a half while maintaining similar personal production — with more room for family, health, travel and enjoying clinical work again.
From transactional interactions to trusted relationships
One clinician was coached to move beyond task-and-transaction interactions and build stronger relationships with patients and the team. He now works four clinical days, records more than $1m in annual clinical production, and has more time, mental bandwidth and energy for family, passions and career aspirations beyond day-to-day dentistry.
From over-giving and undercharging to confident value
Another clinician consistently went above and beyond, but often undervalued and undercharged her work. With coaching and consulting around confidence, communication and value, her patient experience is stronger, her production and treatment acceptance are around double their previous levels, and patients are proceeding with appropriate care they understand.
Across our clinicians: fewer clinical days · higher production · higher take-home income.
Our own practice experience; not a promised advisory outcome.
People + leadership
Equip people. Empower them. Don’t micromanage them.
We build clarity, capability and authority, then trust people to lead. Distributed leadership means decisions do not automatically climb back to the owner.
People can take leave, solve problems, grow, enjoy work and take genuine pride in the practice.

Systems + owner independence
Systems should make good work easier.
Simple, measurable systems. Real visibility. Clear decision rights. A small set of routines and measures that tell the owners what is happening without needing to be physically present.
Profit + resilience
Profit creates options.
Profit funds better pay, better equipment, better patient and team initiatives, resilience when something changes, and the owners’ own aspirations.
The practice is profitable, multi-million-dollar, and grew without paid advertising.

Practical AI
AI that earns its place.
We use AI where it makes good work easier — helping teams communicate, improve patient experience and treatment conversations, reduce operational friction and make better use of information.
I can teach owners and teams simple, tailored tools that fit naturally into daily work, or explore custom and done-for-you solutions where the opportunity justifies it. The point is never more software. It is better work with less friction.
Clinical judgement stays with the clinician.
The ripple beyond the practice
The practice is the vehicle. It isn’t the destination.
A stronger business bought back time, health, family, travel, passions, career options and room for what comes next.
Family
More time together for what matters most.
Travel
Extensive overseas travel, multiple times a year.
Health
Wellbeing, fitness and a sustainable pace.
Wealth
A profitable business building long-term security.
Learning
Ongoing growth, mentorship and world-class learning.
Creation
Space and capacity to build something bigger.
What’s next
The freedom to choose what comes next — on purpose.

Before and after
The same practice, on either side of the work.
Before
- Every decision waits for you. You’re consulted on gloves and on growth.
- Two clinicians, two standards, and a team quietly picking sides.
- Big treatment plans presented well and still not going ahead.
- You look at last month’s numbers halfway through this one.
After
A named owner for each call. You handle the few that only you can.
After
One standard, written down, held by a manager without you in the room.
After
A consistent conversation patients understand and act on.
After
One weekly number you actually act on, in under fifteen minutes.
This is our own practice story, not a consulting-client case study. It shows the system Rhea has helped build and the kinds of constraints she knows first-hand; outcomes differ by practice.
Fair questions
Why isn’t the practice named?
It is a real, independently owned Australian practice with a team and patients who did not sign up to be a marketing asset. The story, sequence and public proof are real.
Is this an advisory client?
No. This is our own practice — the place the thinking was developed, tested and lived, rather than a client engagement written up after the fact.
Did growth come from marketing spend?
No. Growth was built on patient experience and word of mouth, with $0 paid advertising, alongside hundreds of genuine five-star Google reviews.
Is this the outcome you promise?
No. It is what one practice achieved over years of deliberate work. Your constraint, market and appetite are different — which is why the advisory starts with your outcome rather than a template.
